Music&Video: The Cave and Mixes
After a long period of processing, the series of post-vacation posts begins. All of them has a bit of explanation [to whom, I don't know], why so late. Other projects will be launched next week, all of them serving as explanation for the low online activity.
Contents:
- [trippin]:[the_cave]: Greece Video with selected music.
- Extracurricular mixes. Two self-made attempts available for download.
1. [trippin]:[the_cave]
10 min video, re-worked with Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 and added a personal touch with the music. It was excellent – Mani Cave – highly recommended. And freaky as well, sitting in a boat and the driver telling you that the water is 90M deep.
Tracklist: Laurent Garnier – Greed (Avril Radio Mix), Audiofly – Below the Surface, Jamie Jones – The Capsule, Dan Ghenacia – Garden, Ruede Hagelstein – Der Kammblaser, Gabriel Ananda – Lamakova [out].
2. Extracurricular mixes
This part is full with disclaimers and 2 hours of electronic music. Just start the download and read the disclaimer. That will be fine.
Download the mixes – click on the name:
1. tech_x_28082008_3_zoller.zip [Dump.ro]
2. tech_x_29082008_4_zoller.zip [Mediafire.com]
Disclaimer:
- I’m not a wannabe DJ, there are people with talent, skills, technology and time. They should do this. I was just curios to see how would a mix look like.
- I have a poor laptop with poor sound card [on board], no midi-tap, no nothing. So, sometimes the quality could be better.
- These are done by curiosity and trial and error. Just trial, I hope. No tech support, reading, or anything, so please be gentle when commenting.
- One year, better equipment, 100 ebooks and a lots of time would make these mixes much much better.
- The problem: it’s not a priority, i do not have time. But…
- Both mixes follow a “party-logic”, not a “listen it at home” logic. At least, this is how I see the party dynamics.
- Alternative mixes, featuring tracks that I like from a different perception.
- Both have 2-3 minor errors, sorry.
- ANY FEEDBACK IS MORE THAN WELCOMED – in comments, mail, messenger. It would be nice and healthy!
- Zipped files, with tracklists. Nota bene: considering this “Youtube treasure hunt” [please please, what is the name of the track played at ...] I’ve “forgot” one track from both mixes. You find the track, and you are right=you are good.
- Ahh, it’s mostly TECHNO.
- ENJOY!

Movies: In Bruges (2008)
Lately, I’ve watched several movies. Most of them weren’t worth mentioning. This short review is on this blog not because of the value of the movie, but because of the temptation of some readers to take into consideration the 8.1 user rating on the IMDB. Unfortunately, it seems that I am very close to the Females Under 18 category. Or even below that average.
Writer and Director: Martin McDonagh
With: Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes
The most predictable movie of the year. Of course, from what I saw. I had medium expectations. This is a movie where you can find all the details needed in 10 seconds, and then you can build the plot on your own. Symbolic places that are highly emphasized, so you should know that there will happen something. It’s not a boring movie for those who seek the reassurance from the writer that they were right. For this type of viewers should be a great experience. I am the type that says: no fucking way, you must be kidding that I was right. And the movie proves it: you were right. You can smell the effort of the screenplay. It is sweating. I should do something to bring this boy back (igen, Zsoltika – amit te mondtal!). A killer shouldn’t be suicidal. Oh, this is the main “contrast” in the movie?! Sorry. What a twist! This movie is not a dwarf, it is midget. Indeed it is.
So don’t let yourselves mislead by the 8.1 rating. Please!
PS: Deo! Attol, hogy te nem ismered, meg jo ez a Schaefer! Ugye, MR Discipline? Tenyleg, legyen ez a wrestling neved, mit szolsz?

movie batch and others – the “don’t”
A relaxed schedule means movies. I had a very hard time to find some recent good movies, and as it seems, I did not accomplish this goal. Mostly extremely bad movies, so don’t be afraid there are no spoilers.
The Happening (2008)
Where is my Boogie Nights Marky Mark? Hmm? He is dead to me. This is an average movie, where the villain (haha) is too good to be defeated. This is why the ending is pathetic. And we do hate those tricks, where the problem goes to Paris. Do you really have this Paris inferiority complex? DON’T.
Southland Tales (2006)
Dear Richard Kelly! Yes, you who did one of my favorite movies (DD). GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! Understood, self-reflections, irony, time, tales. BUT IT’S UNWATCHABLE! I was really pissed of.
The Kite Runner (2007)
How sweet…Friendship, responsibility in such dark times and dark places. Ohh! Not for me, but it’s not that bad. Actually, perfect hook-up cry-night average movie. (psst, hey! that’s a contextual DON’T).
Iron Man (2008)
Huhh, not that bad. Sin City and Batman were the only good comics-movies for me, but here we have some action and some visuals. The story is weak, of course. Downey not that bad overall. If Marvel fan, watch it. If not, DON’T.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)
Don’t. The first one was watchable, but this story is pretty much zero. Not even for kids.
———-
Re-watched Match Point and Cassandra’s Dream. I don’t know why, but I still like them. For me, it’s mostly theater what Woody Allen does these days. But somehow…I enjoyed it.

BOOK: only in Hungarian. Don’t be sorry.
Karafiáth Orsolya: A Maffia-Klub (Ulpius-Ház, 2008)
- Errol a karafiathrol csak annyit tudtam, h ilyen new wave celeb-irodalmar, es kicsit igy jott le a regeny kidolgozottsaga is.
annakeszeg: akinek a legkevésbé voltak érzelmi problémái :)
Zoltan: aha
Advertising: Sprite (excellent)
An excellent commercial for Sprite. It comprises my opinion about the limited approach in the domestic advertising business – considering football and the European Championship.
Enjoy (Romanian)!

movie batch (2)
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007)
Director: Jake Kasdan
Writer: Judd Apatow and Jake Kasdan
Brutal, but excellent. It is a movie that won’t fit in for many of you. “Backdoor” humor in a pseudo-documentary. Watch it twice! A quote supplier movie that can be considered a finer Ron Burgundy. Congratulations! Loved it. It’s the movie when you cry witholding your laugh. Niche, but a must!
Director and Writer: Neil Marshall
Neil Marshall did the best horror-thriller for me. It was The Descent. I couldn’t move or breathe during that movie. You may say I am a sick bastard, and you may be right, but The descent was an agony with a claustriphobic touch. And here we go with Doomsday. Reading the description and watching the first 4 minutes, I realized this movie is in a very hard position. It is hard to make a good movie based on this virus-horror. Unfortunately, Neil Marshall failed to do something heavy. Ok, maybe it’s this ironic point of view about the horror movies, or it is this path dependece, or the idea of the social reconstruction that repeats itself, but this movie sucked. I could easily eat my lunch during the scenes of cannibalism. No, don’t watch it!

movie batch and weekend
Julie Delpy everywhere. Writer, director, actress. Wooow! Maybe if she had a dick, she would’ve played Jack as well. Briefly: pushing the limits. You want me to kill somebody, show me this movie. European sentimental cliche and crisis. In only two days the world changes and then reconnects. Well, cut the crap and delete this movie!
Way too weak. Way Way Way. Expected much more from this movie. Keanu weak as always, Forrest nice as always, but it seemed that he is doing again the Last King of Scotland act. The story is shallow and predictable. Recommend it only in Dolby in theaters. Mediocre.
Football and Snooker
O’Sullivan and Maguire do their best. Hope they will be the finalists.
UPDATE: Ronnie did a wonderful 147 in the last frame against Mark Williams. Leang and Swail did a great match, with twists and errors, and the young-gun is in!
FC Bayern: Stuttgart is a weak-ass mf with 1-4 (of course, in this season and match). Ribery had some terrific goals, Bayern is almost champion. As the American commentators said on the streaming: THE SHAKE, THE FAKE, THE MAKE. The Romanian Sport Klub had the rights for the first half. Completely disappointing.
Unfortunately, no videos available on Youtube, because: ” This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V.” Shame!
Steh auf wenn du ein Bayern bist!

Funny Games U.S. (2007)
(via thedevinecomedy)
Written and directed: Michael Haneke (remake)
“To preserve moral decency” – Paul
It was a controversial movie. A controversial movie on a personal level as well, but let’s not mention this aspect. I’ve waited for it quite long. I am a Naomi Watts fan and the original was extremely good.
Just a few words: ironic, self-ironic, aggressive and of course funny. A must! Enjoy!
Review continues but as it may contain spoilers, here is the off topic and the question:
OFF TOPIC:
Sports: don’t forget that we have 2 weeks of quality snooker (sorry Matthew) on Eurosport.
Food: today I had the best desert of my life. Mhmmmm!
QUESTION:
Dear readers, please help in my pain. Could you please mention in a comment AN ANIMAL THAT HAS HAIR IN its nose?! Thanks.
- cont – Disclaimer: Maybe spoiler.
Highly ironic movie, so maybe the rumors were true and Haneke did it for fun. Good quotes and sentimental terror. The discussions with the spectator show the real social disappointment (scorn) and the dialogue about the reason (why?) covers some answers about my relationship to violence. As previously mentioned, I like movies about violence and aggression if they show us the manifestation, and afterwards I can contemplate on the “why”. Nobody is so important that he/she could not be killed. This shows us the “how”.
But not completely. This makes it interesting. It’s like cursing with “flowers, happiness and health”. The act of killing is barely shown. The road to killing is barely shown. It’s a funny game! A mainstream game, but a game.

Vantage Point (2008) and SP
(via Allposters)
We watched this movie because it was on the hard-drive. Well, and I don’t care if you consider it a spoiler – because I hope you won’t watch it ever, it wasn’t a real dissapointment because the expectations were quite low. But even so, this movie underachieved seriously. 8 points of view, my ass! Just three and then a classical action movie, where the brave American (disturbed) soldier cathes the islamic looking Morrocan badassmotherfuckers. Wooow, what a twist! No kidding. No joke: this movie REALLY sucks. Huge problems with the plot and huge mistakes in the part of production. You know the bad guys and you do not need this point of view shit to figure it out what happened/will happen.
And I am really tired to see the very bad terrorist, who kills and bombs everybody/everything and stops when a little girl is on the road. During the escape. Please, reconsider the plot and don’t produce movies like this! The content aspects are part of the traditional USwearethebest paradigm, but it does not bother. Well, yes it is! So: highly timeconsuming – nishnish, no no, never ever!
South Park, episode six: it is about us. Completely agree. Sick aspect: while watching the episode the internet stoped. Excellent episode!
PS: don’t forget the Loco Dice party in Club Midi!

The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
(via Iwatchstuff)
For those who like Wes Anderson and the stylized world of values. I liked Zissou, but I did not like this movie. Way too allegoric for me. The objective is to create something beautiful with a clear content. And Mr Anderson does this. I’m just not in the mood for highly symbolic value based movies. Roadmovie with “spiritual message” and a different cultural touch. Not now!

advertising rocks
I’ve seen on many blogs that putting samples of good advertising is a habit. Well, I will follow this rule and I’ll post some interesting prints. I’m interested in prints, because here you don’t have 30 seconds for the narrative part. All the pictures are taken from the Ads of the World community and archive. Nice database!

Social. Gegen Missbrauch: Hand (Advertising Agency: Grabarz & Partner, Germany)

Thematic 1. Luxor Highlighters: Hitler (Advertising Agency: Leo Burnett Mumbai, India)

Nice. Simon Perele: Sexy – Be like French. Wear Sexy (Advertising Agency: Liwa Advertising LLC, Dubai, UAE)

Funny 1. The Sunset Grill and Tap: Belgium (Advertising Agency: Arnold Worldwide, Boston, USA)

Funny 2, although I HATE AXE. Unilever/Axe:McCain (Advertising Agency: BBH, New York, USA)
And well, last but not least: (1) don’t forget the M&M series and (2) search for the World of Warcraft ads (with Mr. T and MiniMe).
Best online: Take the Test, army-freaks! It is hardcore! (Advertising Agency: DDB Stockholm)
OFF TOPIC: Don’t you dare to cheese your fucking mind! (SP 12, Episode 3).
